Distraction Device Instructor

Our Distraction device Instructor course is designed to qualify those Law enforcement Instructor/Tactical Team members who use these devises as part of their operational duty. The course contents includes an introduction to Explosives, distraction devices: types & nomenclature, reloadable verses non-reloadable devices, decibels/ candela & P.S.I. ratings & terminology. Overpressure causes & effect are examined. The practical component includes the safe handling, storage & rendering safe of devices. We examine tactical deployment & safety considerations together with incident case studies. Criminal and civil liabilities are examined as is Departmental development of policy and procedures. The course then practices gripping, handling & deployment drills, live firing exercises based on operational scenarios. These course are only open to current Police, Corrections, Military or Law Enforcement Instructors. Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training or Departmental Instructor qualifications are a prerequisite. This is a one day course.
